Recent Activities of GSA

  1. Recently completed, Consultancy assignment as Cluster Coordinator- Uttar Pradesh (UP) cum Field Investigator for Partners in Development Initiatives (PDI), New Delhi for carrying out Global Fund (Phase III) evaluations of NGOs working in PPTCT (HIV/AIDS) 09th to 23rd March 2012.
  2. GSA shortlisted as one of the SIMPLE project partners of INSA-India, Bangalore, Karnataka from UP and Baseline survey on HIV Workplace Policy (WPP) was conducted in the first week of April 2011.
  3. Completed Consultancy assignment as Field Investigator for Partners in Development Initiatives (PDI), New Delhi for carrying out evaluation of an NGO working in PPTCT (HIV/AIDS) in 4 districts Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bhilwara & Barmer) of Rajasthan, India, being PMTCT programme of GFATM RCC-2 PPTCT under IL & FS (26 July 2011 to 04 August 2011).
  4. Attended SIMPLE India 1st NGO Heads Consultation on “Managing HIV and AIDS in the Workplace: Scaling up the response” at The Residency Hotel, M.P. Nagar, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh during 12th September 2011 to 14th September 2011 as one of the partners of INSA-India, Bangalore, Karnataka. Heads of participating NGOs (39 organizations from 7 states) especially Uttar Pradesh (UP) NGO heads, decided Global Science Academy (GSA) as a state representative from UP to become the Core Committee representative from UP for SIMPLE India project.
  5. Attended SIMPLE India 2nd NGO Heads Consultation on “Managing HIV and AIDS in the Workplace: Scaling up the response” at Hotel Shree Vatika, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh during 01st -2nd March 2012 and presented a PPT presentation titled, Mobilizing/Enabling Environment on HIV/AIDS Workplace Policy:       GSA (Global Science Academy) Initiatives as Catalyzed by INSA-India” also shared, in detail, GSA’s experiences in context of HIV WPP. RESOURCE MOBILIZATION CHAIR.
  6. As Global Fund (GF) Consultant of Family Planning Association of India (FPAI) attended Training of Trainers (TOT) Workshop on European Union (EU) Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and HIV integration and Global Fund (GF) Proposal Writing and Financial Management during November 28, 2011 to December 02, 2011 at Mount Lavinia Hotel, Colombo, Sri Lanka as was organized by International Planned Parenthood Federation South Asia Region (IPPF SARO).
  7. Attended, as Civil Society Observer and one of the 9 member delegation from India as sent by UNAIDS for participating Asia Pacific High-level Intergovernmental Meeting on the Assessment of Progress against Commitments in the Political Declaration on HIV/AIDS and the Millennium Development Goals held at ESCAP, United Nations Conference Center, Bangkok, Thailand during 06-08 February 2012.
  8. Actively participated in the Consultation on HIV & Law on Thursday, 16 February 2012 in New Delhi as was organized by UNAIDS Technical Support Facility for South Asia (TSF-SA) and Maitri in collaboration of South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation in Law (SAARCLAW) which was the part of the UNDP funded project "Support to the Development of Enabling Environment by Scanning of Laws that Impede Effective HIV and AIDS Responses In India”
  9. As freelance consultant for NACO (National AIDS Control Organization) Team Leader evaluated 5 TIs in the state of Gujarat during 19 January to 03 February 2012.
  10. As freelance consultant for NACO (National AIDS Control Organization) evaluated 3 TIs in the state of Madhya Pradesh (MP) during 26 March 2012 to 03 April 2012.
  11. As freelance consultant for NACO (National AIDS Control Organization) evaluated as Team Leader 6 Targeted Intervention (TI) projects in the state of Rajasthan during 16-27 February 2010.
  12. Provided Consultancy as Investigator for DFID funded project of RCSHA to profile Targeted Intervention (TI) projects for NACO in the states and Union Territories of Goa, Daman & Diu, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Haryana etc. in 2007-08.
  13. Worked as International Peer Reviewer of HIV/AIDS projects for foreign donors including Wellcome Trust, UK.
  14. Contributed to the Project Implementation Programme (PIP)-NACP-2nd, 3rd & 4th   to the Government of India as well as in drafting HIV/AIDS Law Bill for India.
